A special dispatch dated
Cloverdale, Ind Sept 20 says: Mrs. JT Horn died Saturday at her residence six
miles east of this place in childbirth. Her husband was very devoted to her,
and his grief is driving him almost insane. Word comes to town that he has
attempted to take poison. The vigilance of his neighbors will be required for a
few days to prevent him from committing suicide. The deceased was his second
wife. (Not sure who this is but probably
wife of Jesse T. who was born in NC 25 Nov 1848 and died 22 March 1908 buried
in Cloverdale – the wife on his tombstone must be his 3rd wife, Mary
1864-1944 – no other connections on findagrave) – may be Nancy Elizabeth Cox married 9 April 1868 in Putnam - transcribed by kbz
