Wiley Hoosier Dies of Heart Failure- Wiley Hoosier, age 71 died of heart failure at his home early Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Hoosier had arisen for the day and as he was lacing his shoes he dropped to the floor. Mr. Hoosier was a highly respected farmer and had spent his entire life southwest of North Salem. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hoosier and was united in marriage to Kitty Ann Morphew. To this union was born 3 sons, Joe of Los Angeles, Ernest and Verne of Indianapolis. The funeral was conducted at the Bapitst church by Ray Brittian. Those from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ethridge Morphew and sons Mr. and Mrs. HW Morphew of Crawfordsville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eggers of Amo and Mr. and Mrs. Arch Hendrix of Indianapolis.

The unexpected death of Wiley M. Hoosier, age 71, occurred at his home near Barnard early Sunday morning after a long illness. He was able to be up and while dressing fell to the floor and was dead when his wife reached him. Funeral services were held at the Barnard Baptist Church Tuesday morning and burial was at North Salem. Deceased was born in Shelby County Kentucky March 23, 1860 and was the son of William Wiley and Mary Hoosier. On May 3, 1884, he was married to Kitty Ann Morphew who survives with three sons, Joseph M. of Los Angeles, Calif; Charles E and Verne C. Hoosier of Indianpaolis; two brothers, Robert Hoosier of near Barnard and Charlei Hoosier of North Salem. Mr. Hoosier was a member of the Old Friendship Baptist Church the IOOF and the Loyal Order of Moose.
