HOOD, Lee Matson - Putnam

Lee Matson Hood of Smartsburg died Saturday morning after an illness of a day. He was 83. Mr. Hood was born Aug 18, 1878 in Putnam County, the son of Aaron W. and Indiana Hood. On October 27, 1907, he married Flora B. Evans. A member of Smartsburg Christian Church, Mr. Hood has lived in Montgomery County most of his life. He was a farmer for many years and later, an automobile salesman. Survivors include a son, Lawrence Hood; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Cox and Mrs. Mary Appel; a brother, Paul Hood; a sister, Mrs. Everett Butler; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Three children and his wife preceded him in death. Friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home after 6 pm. Sunday. Funeral arrangements are pending.
