HINKLE - Elbert - WWI - Putnam

Elbert E. Hinkle, 82, a former Greenwood resident died Tuesday in Miami, Fla. Born to Isaac and Harriet (Buchanan) Hinkle, he was a former teacher and was retired from Indiana Public Service.  A World War I Army veteran, he was a former elder of Greenwood Presbyterian Church.  Graveside services will be conducted 4 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery by Rev. Roger Weir.  Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Friday at the Wilson-St. Pierre Greenwood Chapel. Survivors include sons, Neil Hinkle, Indianapolis and Frederick Hines, Greenwood; daughter, Suzanne Lacy, Miami, Fla and Jeanne Mattick, Greenwood and nine grandchildren. - kbz
