God knows all about those who loved "Milt" and how bitter this trial must be but right through it all God is loving and He knows so much better than we and what God gives. He also takes away. And so it was at noon Tuesday July 28, 1942, Milton Higgins was taken away at the age of 65 Y 2 M and 7 D. He was born May 21, 1877 to Isaac and Louise Haste Higgins in Pulaski County, Kentucky Sept 14, 1902 he married Anna Crawford in Science Hall, KY. To this union one daughter, Marie was born. In 1905 they moved to Indiana and have been residents of Putnam and Montgomery counties since that time. He was a member of the Christian Church. His father, mother, one brother and a grandson preceded him. Those surviving are: his widow; daughter, Marie, son-in-law, Herman; two grandsons, Joe and Jerry Zachary of Whitesville; one sister, Mrs. C.B. McKinney of Danville, Ky; one brother, Edward of Bainville, Montana; two uncles, Robert Bryant of Blooming Grove, Tx and Marion Haste of Manito, Ill and several nieces and nephews. "Though suffering he breathed not a murmur. For the Comforter stood by his side. And whispered, "Fear not, I am with thee. With me shalt thou ever abide." On the river a pale boatman hastened. He heard the soft dip of the oar, Then from earth and sorrow he bore him Across to that beautiful shore."
