Joseph Holland went to Roachdale Sunday to attend the funeral of his foster-father, William Hicks. Mr. Hicks was 83 in November, and has been in poor health for some time. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Malon Hughes of New Market. Mrs. Mary Conner of this place is a cousin. The wife died some years ago.   --- typed by kbz
