The death angel stole silently and almost without warning into the home of Mr. Thomas Hicks, one half mile north of Russellville on February 11, and snatched from the family circle his dear wife. She was taken with pneumonia on Wednesday and in less than five days was safely folded in the arms of Jesus. We would say to the loving husband whose home is shrouded in sorrow that you have the sincere and heartfelt sympathy of all in this sad hour of affliction and that we know a bright flower has been plucked from you and a treasure of this earth that nothing can restore. Mrs. Hicks was a model woman industry, patience and cheerfulness, had a smile and kind word for all, was a kind neighbor ever willing to lend a helping hand. Her life was of a quiet nature, always thought of the welfare of others. We miss her but 'tis God who knows best. Her bosom no longer heaves, the blush has left her cheek, the fine cord has broken and her spirit has winged its flight away to the home of the angels. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Mr. Liston at the Brown's Valley Baptist Church, after which the remains were laid to rest at Indian Hill Creek Cemetery ... written by a friend. -typed by kbz
