- The message which came to W.S. Goslin and wife last Thursday morning announcing the death of their daughter, Mrs. Nannie Hicks at her home in Pensacola, Fla, came as a shock to the entire community. Her death was sudden and unexpected. She with her husband had gone south, hoping to gain relief from the painful disease, rheumatism, but heart trouble was the immediate cause of her death. She was born near Fincastle, August 4, 1872, and died April 10, 1907, aged 34 years, four months and six days. She was married November 10, 1890, to Joseph Hicks. Surviving her are her husband, father and mother, and one sister, Mrs. Harry English of West Lebanon. She joined the Baptist Church at an early age and was a prominent worker in the church wherever her lot was cast. Her life was such that it impressed all with whom she came in contact that she was a devoted Christian. A large number of friends, including many from Crawfordsville, Roachdale, Indianapolis and Ladoga, were present at the funeral services which were conducted Sunday at the Baptist Church by Rev. William Pearce of Anderson, assisted by Rev. William Pearce of Anderson, assisted by Rev. H.R. Baker of this place. Interment at Indian Creek cemetery.
