HICKS, Bertha Henry - Putnam

NORTH SALEM ---- Mrs. Bertha Hicks, 82, died Wednesday morning at the Evangelistic Center at Indianapolis. She had been in failing health for several years.

Born Feb. 13, 1886, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Martin and Sarah Eggers Henry. She was married in 1904 to Ernest Hicks.

Mrs. Hicks was an active member of the North Salem Christian Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Women's Club.

The survivors include the husband, Ernest Hicks; a son, Norris Hicks of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Worrell of Villa Park, Ill., and Mrs. Lois Kelm of Falls Church, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Alva Williams of Bainbridge; a half-brother, Thomas Henry of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the North Salem Christian Church, with Rev. L. C. Ziegler and Rev. R. R. O'Haver in charge. Burial will be in the North Salem Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday at the Porter Funeral Home in North Salem.   ---typed by Walt W
