Greenberry Hickman dropped dead in Mecca just after the noon hour on Monday.

He was working at the old clay plant and had just eaten a hearty dinner.

The body was brought to Waveland for interment on Wed.

The funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church by Rev. TJ Fred, assisted by Rev. HO Bratton, Christian minister at Mecca.

Mr. Hickman was b. June 9, 1843 in Parke County, he followed railroading nearly all his life.

He joined the Waveland Christian Church in 1874; in 1881, he transferred his membership to Lebanon.

He was a good Christian man and one that made friends with all with whom he came in contact.

Three nieces, Mrs. Mary Wilson of Mecca; Mrs. Mary Vice of Roachdale and Miss Laura Spencer are his only surviving relatives.

Mr. & Mrs. Charles Wilson, Mrs. Mary Hickman and Joseph Davis accompanied the body. -- typed by kbz
