HAYS, Allan - Putnam

Allan Hays, 37, died at his home, 1012 Wheeling Avenue last night at 10:30 o’clock following a short illness of influenza.  The wife, Mrs. Pearl Hays is in a critical condition at a local hospital, suffering from the same malady. The deceased man has been a car repairer in the employ of the LE&W Railroad for a period of eight years and moved here from Virginia. Besides his wife he leaves one son, Charles Hays; two daughters, Marybelle and Wilba Hays; one sister, Mrs. Pheba Barnhart of Raven Rock, W Va and one brother, Cleo Hays. The remains will be placed in the receiving vault at the Beech Grove Cemetery today to await the recovery of the wife. – kbz
