HAWKINS, Charles Henry

Charles Henry Hawkins, 18 years old, who sustained injury to his back about a year ago in an accident at the Interstate mine and never recovered from the injury, succumbed at 1 o’clock this morning in the Vermillion County hospital here.  --- several weeks following the accident and was removed ----- past September. About 10 days ago he was taken to a hospital at Paris, Ill but was brought back home Saturday. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Hawkings and eight other children in the following as follows: Lawrence, Mrs. Viola Turner of Blanford, Mrs. Lucile Marcinko, Vernice, Hannah May, Elwood, Blanche and Eugene at home.  The funeral services will be held at the home at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning and burial will be near West Terre Haute. – kbz
