Harrodsburg, Ind – Rites for the Rev. Elmer A. Hartsaw, 85, Methodist minister and former newspaper editor will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Harrodsburg Methodist Church.  The Rev. Mr. Hartsaw who retired three times before he finally stepped down from the pulpit, was found dead yesterday in his home. Authorities said he died of a heart attack and apparently had been dead since Sunday. He was a Putnam County native and observed his 50th year in the ministry in 1958.  His first church was at Solsberry. The Rev. Mr. Hartsaw retired in 1946 from the Harrodsburg church and came out of retirement a year later, serving the Solsberry Church and three others in Greene County.  He retired again after six years at the age of 80, but later returned to the pulpit at Pleasant Run and Leesville. His final retirement came last fall. For two years, while pastor of the Methodist Church at Campbellsburg, he doubled as preacher and editor of the Graphic, a weekly.
