George D. Hartman, aged 79 years, died suddenly Saturday night at 8 o’clock while sitting in a chair at his home at Fincastle. Mr. Hartman was one of the oldest citizens of the county and was highly respected by a large circle of friends. His remains were buried with Masonic honors Monday in the Hartman cemetery at Fincastle. – kbz

Another of the old residents of North Putnam has been called from labor to refreshment – George D. Hartman died very suddenly as he sat in a chair at his home, near Fincastle on Saturday night from heart disease. The deceased was buried with the honors of Masonry on Monday. Deceased was widely known and greatly respected.
