HARBISON, John Howard - Putnam

John Howard Harbison, 70 prominent resident of Russellville died unexpectedly at his home there Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.  Death was due to goiter trouble. The deceased had been ill for the past three days but his condition was not regarded as serious. Mr. Harbison was born near Portland Mills on Sept 27, 1858.  He was never married and had lived on the farm where he was born all his life until last September when he moved to Russellville. The survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Belle Ramsey of Rockville and Miss Mary Harbison of this place; a brother, James Harbison of Portland Mills and a number of nieces and nephews.  A short funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at the home. The body was interred at Cecilia cemetery near Portland Mills and a funeral service was held at the grave. - kbz
