Charlie Harbison, age 77 passed away early Friday morning at his home at Lafayette r. r. 11. Born Sept. 12, 1891, a son of J. K. and Margaret Bain Harbison in Albia, Mo., he was married to Hallie Goodwin, Jan. 14, 1915. He was a member of the Portland Mills Christian church and the Modern Woodmen Lodge of Rockville. He was an auctioneer for nearly 56 years and custodian of the Green Township school in Parke County 27 years. He spent his entire life in Parke County, except the past three years he lived near Stockwell. He is survived by his wife, Hallie; two daughters, Mrs. John (Kathleen) Ellis of Lafayette and Mrs. Melvin (Odetta) Draper of Greenfield, two grandchildren, Rodger Ellis and Sally Draper. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Portland Mills Christian church with burial in Portland cemetery.
