Mrs. Mary Frances Nelson Hanna passed away at her home on the west Walnut Street Road, Thursday morning at 8 o’clock. She had been an invalid the past four and one-half years and had been seriously ill for the past 20 weeks.  Mrs. Hanna was the youngest daughter of James L. and Pauline Yates Nelson, pioneers of Putnam County. She was born in Clinton Twp December 27, 1847 and was married to George W. Hanna December 5, 1865.  To this union were born three daughters, Cora who died in infancy, Hallie who died at the age of 11 and Nellie G who became the wife of OM Tustison her death occurring June 8, 1918.  Mrs. Hanna’s early married life was spent at Morton, later at Hanna Crossing, north of town. 20 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Hanna moved to Greencastle to their present home. She united with the ME Church at an early age and remained faithful to this church and her religious convictions throughout life.  Mrs. Hanna was a woman of broad vision and unlimited kindness.  Her hands were constantly busy in ministering not only to those of her own household but o all who needed her as a mother. It may be truly said, “Her children shall rise up and call her blessed.”  She is survived by her husband who is in a critical condition, his death being expected at any time, and by three grandchildren, Ross Hanna Tustison of Greencastle; Vera Tustison Watson of Indianapolis and Madonna Nelson Tustison of Kokomo. Two great grandsons, James E. Watson and Reid Tustison of Indianapolis also survive.  One grandson, Reid Tustison died in 1927. She also leaves a brother, Newton Nelson of Indianapolis.
