HANKS, Alvin - Putnam

The death of Alvin B. Hanks, age 72, occurred Friday evening at near 4:30 o’clock at the home in Monroe Township following a stroke of apoplexy which he suffered about 10 days ago.  Mr. Hanks had been in an unconscious state for the last week. Beside the widow he leaves four children, Aden Hanks of Monroe Township, Mrs. Pearl McIntyre of Terre Haute, Miss Eva Hanks at home and Mrs. Paul Heaney of this city. The funeral will be Sunday morning at 10:30 o’clock at the Brick Chapel Church. Rev. LD Dodd of Indianapolis will be in charge. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Hanks was one of the prominent and industrious farmers of Monroe Township. He was born in Kentucky Dec 25, 1851. – kbz
