Mrs. Jesse Hamrick of Clinton Township died on March 3 (sic – tombstone reads 22 Oct 1862 – 4 March 1894) after a short sickness in the 31st year of her age. The deceased was a devoted wife, a fond mother and a kind neighbor. Her death is sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.

Under “Sycamore Grove news” – The funeral of Mrs. Jesse Hamrick on Monday was largely attended; burial at Bethel on Little Walnut Cemetery; a husband and two children are left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and kind mother.

Mrs. Maggie Hamrick, wife of Jesse Hamrick, Jr. bid farewell to the sorrows of this life and passed to the land of rest on March 4, 1894; she was sick only a few days; she died in the Savior’s love. She leaves a husband, two children Earl aged 9 years, and Essa aged 5 years; a mother and three brothers and other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her loss.  The deceased, Maggie M. Kee, was the daughter of Bolin and Sarah Kee; she was born Oct 22, 1862; married to Jesse M. Hamrick Jr. on March 20, 1879; joined the ME Church in Feb 1891 and was a faithful and true member. Before going hence she called her children to her bedside and asked that they be obedient children and that they become members of the church and live faithful to the Master’s cause. She was a true and loving wife and faithful and kind mother and was loved by all who knew her. She told the relatives and friends that she wanted to meet them in Heaven… one who knew her! - transcribed by kbz
