Tell City, Ind – Ferd Hammack, 62, Rt 1, Tell City, an employee of the Tell City Furniture Company died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday at Perry County Memorial Hospital after an illness of six months. Mr. Hammack, a veteran of WWI, was a charter member of the Winchell-Vogel post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Pearl Hammack: two sons Ferd Lee and Kenneth W (Virgil) of Tell City; six daughters: Mrs. Magdaline Bauer and Misses Dorothy, Ruth, Helen, Pearl, and Alice Hammack all of Tell City; two sisters, Mrs. Frank George of Tell City and Mrs. Hugh May of Birdseye; two half sisters, Mrs. Anthony Paulin and Mrs. Everett Miles, Tell City; a stepsister, Mrs. Maggie Jarboe of Bloomington, Ill and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Deer Creek Baptist Church, Rev. EC Ringer of Tell City officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the grave in the church cemetery. – kbz
