HAMILTON, Fay - Putnam

Greencastle, Ind – Fay S. Hamilton, 88-year-old dean of Putnam County attorneys, died yesterday morning in the home of a son, Francis Hamilton at Greencastle.  A lifelong resident of Putnam County, Mr. Hamilton had practiced law 51 years at Greencastle and was the oldest member of the Putnam County Bar Association.  He retired several years ago.  He was Putnam County deputy clerk before entering the law practice.  He was also Putnam County prosecutor four years.  Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hopkins-Walton Funeral Home at Greencastle. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery at Greencastle.  Survivors include a son, Lowell Hamilton of Birmingham Ala; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Middleton of Washington, DC and Miss Mary G. Hamilton of Indianapolis and a sister, Mrs. Claire Gibson of Indianapolis. - kbz
