Eugene Van Hamilton, 95 born in Green Castle (sic) Ind lived in Marshallville and New Franklin prior to his residence at Chapel Hill Community where he passed way Sept 1, 2015. He retired from General Tire and Rubber Co, served along with six of his brothers in WWI in the Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of VFW #9795. Preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, he is survived by son and dau-in-lawe, Frank and Kim of N. Canton; son, Joseph of Green; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Eric Prather of Canal Fulton; grandchildren, Michael Hamilton; Kristy (Matt) Tarnowski; David (Bridge) Prather; Daniel Prather; Allison (Paolo) Buell; great grandchildren, Gavin and Peyton Hamilton and Joe Tarnowski; also survived by brothers, Charles (Margaret) Hamilton; Russell (Betty) Hamilton; sister Doris (Donald) Lemon; nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Saturday Sept 5, 2015, 11 a.m. at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E Cherry St (Rt 93) Canal Fulton, Ft. Kevin McCafferty officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron with Military Honors by Firestone VFW #3383.
