Mrs. Ruth
Halstead, of Portland, Oregon a former resident of South Bend died at 8 p.m.
Monday in Portland. She was born in Putnam County, Indiana in November 1899,
and came to South Bend where she resided until moving to Portland in 1936. Mrs. Halstead is survived by her husband and
two nieces, Mrs. John O’Hara and Miss Betty Jo Scott both of South Bend. A brother, Harold J. Scott of South Bend died
March 24, 1956. The body is in the
Edward Holman & Son Funeral Home in Portland where funeral services will be
held Friday morning.
