HAINES, Walter - Putnam

Danville, Ind March 17 – Walter Haines, 55 years old, of Belle Union in Putnam County was killed early this morning on US 36 near here when the automobile he was driving collided with a transport truck. AO Alley, 68, also of Belle Union, a passenger in the car, was hurt seriously and taken to the Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. Although the big truck overturned, the driver, GW McCommbey of St. Louis, Mo escaped injury. - kbz
