CLOVERDALE – Miss Anna R. Guntle, 78, resident of Cloverdale and a former resident of Darlington, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. She was born in Montgomery County on Dec. 16, 1886, the daughter of George and Sarah Goble Guntle. A charter member of the Darlington Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, she moved her membership to Cloverdale when she moved here. Miss Guntle was a member of the First Christian Church at Greencastle, and she was ordained a minister in that church while she lived in Darlington. She was a bookkeeper for a number of years at the Cloverdale Hardware & Lumber Co. The only survivors are a few cousins. Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale with Rev. George Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Darlington. Miss Anna R. Guntle, 78, Cloverdale, passed away in the Putnam County Hospital at 7:30 Sunday evening where she had been admitted on Saturday. She was bookkeeper for the Cloverdale hardware & Lumber Co. for several years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Greencastle. Survivors are nieces. Funeral services will be announced later by the Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale.
