GRIMES, Ollie - Putnam

Darlington – Ollie R. Grimes, 92, formerly of Darlington, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Creole, La. Mr. Grimes was a retired farmer. Born Jan. 23, 1899, near Russellville, he was a son of David H. and Anna Mariah Hargrave Grimes. He was married in 1909 to Bessie Mable Endicott who preceded him in death. He is survived by four sons, Lyle of New Market, William of Rt. 3, Ralph of Claypool, Ariz., and Lloyd of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Helen Schriner of Crawfordsville and Norma Midgett of Cameron, La.; 13 grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond and a daughter, Violet Merrill. Services were held at Creole, La. Graveside rites will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the IOOF Cemetery at Darlington with the Rev. Lester Vanest officiating. The family requests no flowers. Hunt & Son Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.   ---smc
