George L. GRIFFIN, son of Squire and Kizzie Griffin was born in KY Jan 18, 1859 departed this life Aug 23, 1930, aged 71 years 7 months 5 days. He was united in marriage to Angeline Todd Nov 30, 1879. They spent 21 years in the state of MO after which they moved to Indiana where he spent the remainder of his life. To this union 4 children were born, all preceding him in death except one son, Home, resideing in Greencastle. He always looked forward to Homer's coming home as he had given his love for his other children to this one. "Uncle George," as he was called by many was always of a cheerful nature. Even in his 3 years of suffering he would greet you with a smile. He often remarked during his long sickness that he wished he might go to rest. He united with the Baptist Church many years ago but in later years, Dec 4, 191 1moved his memberhsip to the Christian Church in Russellville. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge and throughout his membership he enjoyed its spirit of friendship and loyalty. He enjoyed every visit of its members and throughly appreciated all its aid. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, one son, a daughter-in-law, two brothers, Sirenis and James, both of KY, besides many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 3 conducted by Rev. HA Davis. Burial was at Hebron cemetery.
