GOODPASTURE, child

Source: Greencastle Banner 24 April 1890 p 2

The freak of nature born to Mrs. Lawrence Goodpasture of Jefferson Township, Putnam County died this week, after having lived three weeks and two days only.  Persons living in the neighborhood who saw the child during its lifetime say it was as “peart” as any child yet it is described as one of the most remarkable curiosities on record.  Its mouth was like a dogs.  It had two sets of gums, two noses, two foreheads, four eyes and its tongue was so short that it could not nurse.  Its hair was yellow and curly like a dogs and its feet resembled those of a duck. The family has long been in straightened circumstances – Indianapolis Journal.  – kbz
