GLOVER, Newton C.
Source: Waveland Independent newspaper, Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana 17 December 1909
Clifford (sic - Charles?) Newton Glover died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Frank Seybold on Thursday morning and was buried at the Presbyterian Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon at two, after services at the home of the grandmother, Mrs. Matilda Glover, conducted by Rev. Thomas G. Pearce. Death was caused by tuberculosis. He was the son of Charles E. and Oilen (?) Glover and was born at Judson June 1, 1893. His early life was spent in Judson, Waveland and Cloverdale. At the death of his father three years ago, he came here to make his home with his grandmother, Mrs. Matilda Glover. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of excellent character, and liked by all. Until compelled to desist on account of bad health, he attended the Waveland schools.
Note: Tombstone at the Waveland Cemetery CLEARLY states his name as Newton Charles Glover -- however, his obituary says Clifford Newton Glover. Since he has a brother Charles, it seems odd they'd name them both Charles, so I'd normally vote for Clifford; however, I'd also normally take a cemetery stone as a more proper / accurate -- if anyone knows for SURE - let me know -- karen.zach@sbcglobal.net - Thanks muches :)
