GILMORE, Joseph - Putnam

Joseph Gilmore, a member of the 27th Ind Reg who enlisted at Putnamville and participated in the three days fight at Gettysburg, Penn and was seriously wounded, has since died from the effects of his wound.  He was a brave soldier.  Note: Died 4 July – now, is that ironic?  Born 23 June 1828 Preble County, Ohio son of James and Eliizabeth (Ramsey) Gilmore.  He was the father of two daughters, Mary, Josephine and son John and a son, Samuel Myers Gilmore by 1st wife, Mary Susan Myers.  His second wife was Rebecca Sellers - kbz
