Mrs. Elizabeth Farrow Gillespie died at the family residence just west of the city at 10 o’clock Sunday night of old age.  She was born in Montgomery County, Kentucky Dec 28, 1873 (sic – obviously incorrect – possibly 1823) and came to this county with her parents in 1837 and has lived in this county ever since. In 1839 she was married to the late Thomas Gillespie and a family of 16 children, 14 of whom are still living was the fruit of the union. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She was a kind neighbor, faithful wife and nobler mother. The funeral will occur from the family residence at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Interment at Forest Hill. - kbz
