GERNON, Julia Clahan - 1917 - Putnam

The following notice of the death of Mrs. Robert Gernan (sic) of Aberdeen SD was published in the Daily news of that city.

The funeral services of Mrs. Robert Gernon (sic) who died at St. Luke's Hospital June 17 were held at the Sacred Heart Church at Westport, Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Father Caine was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Gernon, whose maiden name was Julia Clahan, was born in Putnam County, Indiana August 10, 1862. She was married to Robert Gernon of Westport, March 4, 1886 and has been a resident of that place since then. She leaves a husband and three daughters, Mrs. Fred McGovern of Bradley; Mrs. AF Wosnuk of PIerre, and Miss Marie Gernon to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. All were present during her last illness.  Her sister, Miss Jenny Clahan, of Ladoga, Ind was at her bedside. One sister, Mrs. Mary Ryan of Lebanon, Indiana arrived Sunday

evening and was present at the funeral.   ---kbz
