GEORGE, Omer - Putnam

Newtown, Ind Feb 28 – Omer George, a resident of this community for 25 years died at his home two miles west of Newtown at 12:45 o’clock Friday morning following an illness of several months. Heart trouble and complications caused his death.  Mr. George was born at Bainbridge March 1, 1880, a son of Franklin and Frances Tippin George. He was married to Miss Bessie Bowers of Bainbridge who survives him.  In addition to the widow, Mr. George is survived by one son, Franklin of Elgin, Ill; one sister, Mrs. Eula Stevenson of Indianapolis and one brother, James of Bentonville. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home. Interment will take place in the old Baptist Cemetery three miles west of Newtown. - kbz
