Anna Jane Oliver was born in Putnam County, Indiana Jan 17, 1862 and departed this life at the family home in Parsons, Kansas Tuesday Sept 27 at 11:50 p.m. Aged 59 years 8 months and 10 days. She was the youngest of a family of five children, all of whom preceded her into the great beyond except one sister. In Nov 1882 she was united in marriage to TF George. To this union five children were born four of whom survive her. Mrs. Joe Stangle, Mound Valley, Kansas; Mrs. MV Hamilton, Glove, Arizona; Mrs. Albert Notling, Chicago, Ill; Howard George, Parsons, Kansas; Hugh George deceased. She is survived by six grandchildren, Hugh George, Howard George, Edna George, Morris Roark, Joseph Strangle, Walter Strangle. She was converted and united with the Missionary Baptist Church in 1890. During the close years of her life she was in poor health and did not get to attend church. But she remained faithful and loved the Lord and his people. She leaves a husband, four children, six grandchildren and many relatives and friends to mourn for her. All of her children were in attendance at the funeral service. Funeral services were held from the Baptist Church on Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock, Rev. H Floyd Surles officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Mound Valley cemetery to await the Resurrection morning. A large number of friends and relatives were in attendance. - kbz
