The many friends of Carl Gasper, 50, were shocked late Sunday to learn of his sudden death due to a cerebral hemorrhage which he suffered during the early afternoon. Mr. Gasper was found unconscious in a chicken yard at his home SW of Greencastle Sunday afternoon by his daughter, Mrs. Frank Bundy. She went to the home when she got no answer to a telephone call. He died soon afterwards in the Putnam County Hospital at 6 p. m. Mr. Gasper had operated the Gasper Transfer Line here for the past 20 years or more, having taken it over from the late HL Jackson for whom he worked prior to taking over the system. In recent years he had been working at the NY Central Station during the afternoon. He was widely known over the community, due to his long business assocations here with many acquaintances. Mr. Gasper is survived by the widow, the daughter and a brother, Kenneth. The body was taken to the Whitaker Funeral Home and services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Firends may call at the Funeral Home.
