GASAWAY, Sydney - Putnam

Sydney Gasaway, age about 40 years, a railroad employee, residing on North Madison Street suffered a fracture of the fifth rib on both sides and cuts and severe bruises about the body late Monday afternoon when the Ford touring car which he was driving, overturned on the concrete pavement in front of the Seller’s farm just south of the city throwing him to the ground.  Mrs. Gasaway was said to have been driving at a rapid rate toward Greencastle and in attempting to make the curve ran off the pavement and skidded, causing the light car to turn upside down.  Passersby attracted to the scene summoned a physician and later took the injured man to his home. Dr. AE Ayler, who dressed his injuries at his home found two broken ribs and badly lacerated legs. His injuries although painful are not serious. Mrs. Gasaway was driving alone at the time of the accident. His wife died two weeks ago.
