Again the angel of death has visited our community and taken from our midst a much beloved woman, Dollie Garrett wife of Kin Garrett she passed away at the home on Beveridge street, July 5 shortly after midnight after a long siege of suffering which she bore with much patience. She was the daughter of Millison and Mariah Goodard and had she lived until today, July 7 she would have been 63 years of age. She joined the Church of Christ at Long Branch 47 years ago when she was 16 years of age and lived ever faithful to her trust, a loving companion and a mother in every sense of the word. She was married to David Kindred Garrett March 27 ,1895. There came to bless their home two children, Minnie the wife of Hugh Mangus and Willard Garrett of Greencastle. She leaves besides her children, 7 grandchildren and one step grandson and also a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joe Eder of Anderson, Ind. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Neva Rogers of Madison Township and Mrs. Pearl Norman of Montezuma, Indiana and two brothers, John Goddard of Greencastle and Chas. Goddard of Clinton Falls. She lived most of her life in Madison Township except a short time in Greencastle. A good neighbor and a kind, true friend. One little word, but in it lies a magic in no other, for all of life and hope and love is in that one word, MOTHER. --- Card of Thanks – we wish to thank our many friends relatives and neighbors, for the kindness shown us, during the sickness and death of our beloved wife, and mother, Mrs. Dollie Garrett.
