RUSSELLVILLE – Arthur Carl Garrett, 80, retired carpenter, died Friday morning at the Carmen Nursing Home after an extended illness. Mr. Garrett had lived in Parke and Putnam counties before his retirement. The deceased was a member of the Union Chapel Church at Morton. Born on March 14, 1888, he was the son of Wesley and Henrietta White Garrett. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Bratton of Bellmore, Mrs. Cathleen Sutherlin of Judson and Mrs. Imogene Pinelli of Elmira, N.Y.; a brother, Lawrence of Russellville; two sisters, Mrs. Zelma Greenlee of Decatur, Ill., and Mrs. Bess Bronson of Kissimmee, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William W. Garrett, in 1967. Services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at McGaughey and Son Funeral Home at Russellville with Rev. John Lamb of Rockville officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Sunset Memorial Cemetery at Evansville. -– jlr
