Following an illness of two weeks, Ralph Gardner, 40-year-old resident of seven miles west of Greencastle, died at 9:40 o'clock Friday night in Robert Long hospital in Indianapolis. Mr. Gardner, employed by Trembly & Williams wholesale house of this city, was taken to the hospital several days ago in a serious condition. Death was attributed to lobar pneumonia. The deceased was born on November 5, 1897 west of Greencastle and spent his entire life in the neighboring community. Survivors include the widow, Edna; one son, Ralph Jr., at home; his mother, Mrs. Dan Gardner of this city; seven brothers, Forrest, Walter and Jerome Gardner of this city; Grover Gardner of Clinton county, Russell Gardner of Indianapolis and Harold Gardner of Anderson; one sister, Mrs. Lola Tilly of this city. The body was returned to the Shannon Funeral Home in this city where last rites will be conducted at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Raymond Skelton of Limedale will officiate. Burial will be in Little Walnut cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – kbz
