Roachdale, Ind Jan 6 - Mrs. Harvey Gardner, formerly of this place but late of near Fincastle passed away at her home there about 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon after an illness of one week. A few months ago Mrs. Gardner underwent an operation for removal of inward goitre at the Mayo Hospital in Minnesota and was planning to return the first of this week for another treatment. Mrs. Gardner was formerly Miss Olivia Burket, daughter of the late Benton Burket, deceased. Mrs. Gardner was a woman of sterling character and made fiiends wherever she went. Besides her husband, she leaves six sisters: Mrs. Mary Crodian; Mrs. Mil Bowers;Mrs. Wallie Goslin; Mrs. James Skillman; Mrs. Will Obenchain; and Mrs. Charles Shannon, and one brother (Francis) Marion Burket. The funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. - kz

A few months ago Mrs. Gardner underwent an operation for removal of inward goiter at the Mayo hospital in Minnesota and was planning to return the first of this week for another treatment Mrs. Gardner was formerly Miss Olivia Burkett and leaves six sisters and one brother. Mrs. Gardner was about 47 years of age and leaves a large number of friends in this town and in her home community. The funeral services were conducted at her home at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning. – kbz
