Frank M. GARDNER, 60, died at Culver Hospital Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock after a period of poor health. His condition had been serious for five weeks. Death was due to heart condition. Born in Russellville, the son of Edward E. and Cora Ann Webster Gardner, Jan 23, 1892. In 1911 he married Lucy LOUGH, who survives. Mr. Gardner for the last 23 years had operated the Gardner Kennels where he kept and trained hunting dogs. Previously he had been a game warden, a barber and at 23 he held the distinction of being the youngest railroad engineer in the US when he operated an engine on the Midland RR. Survivors in addition to the widow include two brothers, Earl B. and Ben A, both of New Market and a sister, Mrs. Mary A. Shoaf of Bainbridge. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Machledt Funeral Home. Burial will be made at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
