GARDNER, Daniel V. - Putnam

Daniel Voihers Gardner was born Feb 22, 1863 and fell asleep May 15, 1939; age 67 years 2 months and 23 days. He was the son of John and Susan Busby Gardner. He spent his entire life in Putnam County.  He was married to Mary Busy July 28, 1895. He leaves to mourn the wife, 9 children: Grover D, Ralph R, Forest E, Walter C, Mrs. Lola Gardner Tilly, Russell C, Jerome C, Lawrence and Harold K. Three brothers and four sisters: Mrs. Eliza Boswell of Carpentersville; Mrs. Ella Day of Greencastle; Mrs. Gertie Alspaugh of Westville, Ill and Mrs. Lucy Goddard of Lafayette, Robert, Charles and Oliver Gardner, also 11 grandchildren. In speaking of Mr. Gardner his one motto was honesty. Always a true father, our loss is his eternal gain.  Today his home is in heaven and his Father is God.
