GALEY, Sallie May - Putnam

Sallie May GALEY, 79, died March 23, 1963 in Culver Hospital where she had undergone surgery Friday night. She had been seriously ill a week. Miss Galey was a daughter of Benjamin M. and Pauline Armstrong Galey and was born in Browns Valley May 1, 1883. She was a member of Browns Valley Christian Church. She lived many years in Indianapolis where she was employed at Wm. H. Block Co. After retirement she made her home with sister, Mrs. Mollie Carrington of Browns Valley. Surviving beside the sister are 8 nieces and nephews, Mrs. Nell Canine; Mrs. Marjorie Shanks; Mrs. Mollie Barnard; Mrs. Mabel Gerichs; Mrs. Edith Wilson; Homer Galey; Roy and Charles Galey. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at her church in Browns Valley, Rev. Grover DeNeal officiating and burial in Freedom Cemetery. - kbz
