GALEY, Julia - Putnam

Mrs. Julia E. Galey, aged 79 years died at 12:15 o’clock Monday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Frank Hazlett, southwest of Russellville. She had been ill three and a half years with paralysis.  Mrs. Galey who was born Oct 19, 1858 north of Browns Valley was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Allen, pioneer residents of Montgomery County.  She was married Oct 9, 1789 (sic) to James H. Galey who died in 1929. The deceased was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and the Eastern Star order.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hazlett at whose home she died at Mrs. Fred Spruhan, Detroit, Mich; a son, Floyd S. Galey, Clermont and a brother, John C. Allen, Browns Valley. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday at the Browns Valley Baptist Church. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery. - kbz
