Fuqua, Lafayette

Died in Madison Township, Lafayette Fuqua in the 34th year of his age; deceased was well known for his kind-hearted general nature and was loved and esteemed by all who knew him. He had been afflicted for a long time with the asthma, but bore his sufferings patiently and never murmured nor complained. He leaves a wife and two little children, father, mother, brothers and sisters to mourn his early demise. He was an affectionate husband, devoted father, a dutiful son and loving brother. He had often expressed his sincere faith in Christ. His troubles are over – he is at peace. – kbz

On Friday morning Mrs. Fuqua found her husband, Lafe Fuqua dead in bed. She went to call him and thinks that possibly he breathed once or twice after she done so. Deceased had worked all day Thursday as usual and when he came home he enjoyed his supper, eating heartily and soon went to bed, making no complaint of sickness. He had been troubled slightly with asthma, but it is not thought his death resulted from this disease. Mr. Fuqua lived northwest of this city on the Dunbar farm- kbz
