FOSTER, (name not listed)-1897

Source: Daily Greencastle Banner and Times, 15 Oct 1897 p 1

Coroner Kleinbub has received from William Foster, brother of the man who recently suicided at this place, a letter of thanks for the kind treatment showed his brother both before and after his death.  The letter also contained a check for all expenses connected with the burial, which amounted to a little over $95.  The bills were all paid in full and the communication abounded in expressions of gratitude for the favors shown his unfortunate brother.  He expressed great disappointment at being unable to be present at the funeral and also repeated his former expressions of surprise at his brother becoming insane.  It is also his desire that the sum of money, $13 found on his brother’s body be used to erect a small headstone at the grave.  Mr. Kleinbub has very carefully carried out the wishes of Mr. Foster in every particular. The stone will be put up as soon as possible.  Receipts for all the paid bills were secured and they, along with the effects of the dead man will be sent to the brother’s home in Clifton, Arizona.    ~~~transcribed by kbz
