William Ford died Saturday night of acute peritonitis at his home west of town and was buried Monday. Mr. Ford was born in this township in 1824, and consequently was one of our oldest native born citizens. He was at one time township trustee and was also county commissioner. Rev. Hagans preached the funeral discourse at the Christian-Union church, which was crowded to its utmost capacity with friends and relatives. The Masonic fraternity had charge of the obsequies, a large number of whom were in attendance. - contributed by Kim H
