Near Mt. Meridian, Saturday afternoon about 3 o’clock while Edward Fisher’s wife was standing on a chair arranging things on the mantle, her clothing caught fire. She ran into the yard crying for help. Mr. Fisher hurried to her, but arrived only in time to see her rolling on the ground with her clothing literally burned off. Her body and limbs were burned into a crisp. She was unconscious until 5 o’clock the next morning when she died. She leaves a family of small children and husband who have the deepest sympathy of the community.
