FALL, Henry Reed - Putnam

Henry Fall, 67, prominent farmer of the Raccoon neighborhood, was found dead at 6:30 o'clock Thursday evening. Death is attributed to apoplexy. He was apparently in good health at 5:30 pm. Mr. Fall was born June 19, 1860, near Raccoon. He was married December 7, 1882 to Lottie Coshow, who preceded him in death on April 23, 1913. He was again married on October 27, 1914, to Iva Wilson, who together with two sons by the first marriage, Buford L and Ben L Fall, survive. Deceased was a member of the Modern Woodman lodge and one of the best known citizens of this vicinity. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church at Raccoon at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with burial at Lafayette.   --- kbz

This is one of the mysteries that is not for us to understand but belongs to Him who doeth til things well. Henry, son of Jesse and Martha Fall, was born June 19, 1860, near Raccoon at the old Fall homestead, and departed this life April 14, 1927, at Raccoon, having spent his entire life of 66 years 10 months and 5 days in that vicinity. His parents, one brother, John Fall, and one sister, Mrs Mattie Fall Jones, preceded him to the great beyond many years ago. He was united in marriage to Lottie T Coshow Dec 7, 1882, and to this union two sons were born, Bufored Lee and Benjamin Levi. Lottie preceded him in death April 23, 1913. He was again united in marriage to Mrs Ida L Wilson on October 27, 1914. Henry was a member of the modern Woodsmen of America for the past 30 years and while not affiliated with any church his kind heartedness, and generours nature had won him many friends. Truly it can be said of this man that his name - is noted for its hospitality and sincere welcome and that many homeless boys had found comfort and shelter at his fireside. He leaves to mourn his departure the widow, two sons and their wives and three grandchildren; four step children and their families, one brother, Dan Fall of Raccoon, and one sister, Mrs "Sank" Epperson of Ladoga, besides a number of nephews, and nieces and friends. As a neighbor and friend in time of need he cannot be too highly praised, as he was always ready to offer a helping hand. He like us was not without fault, but over these we trust the Divine Helper will throw the mantle of charity.   --- kbz
