Russellville - Viola Gladys Evans, 79, of Russellville died in Golden Manor Nursing Home at Ladoga Sunday morning after a short illness. She was a member of the United Church of Christ at Russellville, past matron of Order of Easter Star, past president of the Parke County Federation of Clubs and Parke County Coral Club. Born August 31, 1896, she was a daughter of James N. and Caroline Summers Long. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Kandrac of Indianapolis, a son Dale of Waveland; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Robert Huffman of Indianapolis. Her husband, Earl and son preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in United Church of Christ of Russellville with Rev. Leo Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at McGaughey & Son Funeral Home (Russellville). In memory of the two grandsons, memorials may be given to the Don Evans Memorial Fund at Wabash College or the Mitchell-Evans-Kandrac Memorial Fund at the University of Illinois.
